I know for certain Spring has sprung! My husband has been out on the front porch with his rifle shooting the carpenter bees. Not an easy task. He is actually quite a good shot; probably hits 5 out of 6. The bees are very busy trying to bore holes in the wooden beams on the front porch and otherwise making nuisances of themselves. Shooting them not only provides excellent target practice but also seems to effectively reduce their numbers; however it is quite a sight!
Additional and more traditional signs of Spring include the beautiful blooming wild dogwood trees all throughout the woods. Some of the tulip bulbs are popping up and the trees are sprouting new leaves daily. As soon as it warms up a bit more we will be out on the front porch in the rocking chairs watching for those carpenter bees!
