The grass is greener on the other side!

I have been away from my computer for several days sadly attending to my mother's funeral in Florida. I needed a little levity. The horses were happy to accommodate.
I drove into the driveway - actually a half mile paved road - only to find the 16.2 hand thoroughbred standing unattended in the front yard gorging himself on lush green grass. The donkey is a master at knocking down fences. She likes to eat the grass just on the other side - it is greener no doubt! As she leans over the wire fence she manages to push the wires down a considerable distance. I can only guess that this is what occurred today. The donkey is very short; perhaps 14 hands. The thoroughbred, on the other hand, is very tall. I imagine he came along to find the lowered fence wire and probably proceeded to almost step over it. He then took a short walk up the drive to the front yard and had himself a bit of a feast. He was easy to catch, probably due to such a full stomach, and is back inside the fence where he belongs. My dear husband is now out making fence repairs!
