Spring Drivers

Thought I better publish some of my spring photos before we are dead into summer!
Something about the warm weather has brought out the driving crazies worse than ever. In this laid-back country town people are incredibly polite. They will 'yes ma'am' you at the drop of a hat, hold the door open for you (even when it puts them behind you in the line that awaits inside), and excuse the most ridiculous behavior with a simple 'bless his heart'. But when it comes to driving.....NYC cab drivers have nothing on the locals. They tail-gate you like nothing I have ever seen before. At least 3 times a day I want to jump out of my car or big yellow school bus and literally beat the crap out of some guy that is less than an inch from my bumper. Instead I have to content myself with slowing down to a crawl. And speaking of school buses, there is apparently no fate in this world worse than getting stuck behind a school bus. The local drivers would rather miss Sunday church and risk eternal damnation than get stuck behind a school bus (and that is saying something in this Baptist bible belt community)!
People will fly through stop signs and speed out of driveways in an effort to always beat the bus. They will also pass in no passing zones, on a hill or a curve, as if it is the most acceptable past time around. Somehow southern manners fly right out the window when people get behind the wheel. Maybe the hot weather will slow them down!
