Feels like Spring

After many days of some of the coldest weather we get here in north Georgia (which consisted of many mornings in the low to mid teens), we have had two days of temperatures in the mid to high 60s. Definitely almost feels like spring! The horses are full of themselves, the dogs are flushing birds and anything that moves out of the pastures, the cats are stretching lazily in the sun and the chicken is laying eggs! I know it can't really be close to spring, as it is only late January, but it sure feels good. Now I actually like winter. In fact, one of my favorite things about where we live is the change of seasons, including winter. Growing up in Florida, this is a whole new experience for me; and I love it. The days are starting to get longer again and the daffodils are peeking out of the ground. So even though it is only late January, spring must be right around the corner.
Speaking of late January, it is our 22nd wedding anniversary today. We are going to the Ritz at Lake Oconee for dinner, a little touch of class. Perhaps there will be grits on the menu!
