Early buds of Spring

One of the things I like best about where we live is the fact that we get four very distinct seasons. Right now we are moving from the drab grays of winter into the innumerable colors of spring. The yellow daffodils are bursting open from the ground. The fields are turning green ( apparently the chicken poop payed off). The days are longer and not so cold. The geese are honking overhead, surely announcing their travel plans to exotic destinations. There are babies in the fields; calves, lambs, and goats - with fuzzy cotton-soft coats hobbling along trying to keep up with their mamas. It won't be long before the spotted fawns are everywhere. The cardinals are no longer the only colorful birds at the feeders. The beautiful bluebirds have joined the backyard repast. The trees and bushes are full of buds and and I love watching all the new colors bursting forth on an almost-daily basis. Life is good out in the Georgia countryside.
